STILL FROM ARTIFICIAL INTIMACY, 2009
HONIGMAN: Does this interest in intimacy come from your personal emotional life?
EVANS: I'm interested in intimacy because it has been the most important thing in my life. Before I even knew what romance was even, I can remember wanting to be close to someone-to reach, touch, be touched.
HONIGMAN: Are you just referring to sexual intimacy? What about the intimacy between friends, family... pen pals?
EVANS: Intimacy is about a connection that makes you feel understood, that helps you to establish faith in truths that wouldn't exist without another person. My work is about intimacy because I would go mad without it.

Antwerp Six ( seven ? )
The Antwerp Six refers to a group of influential avantgarde fashion designers graduating from Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts between 1980-1981. At the academy they were taught by Linda Loppa. The fashion collective presented a distinct radical vision for fashion during the 1980s that established Antwerp as a notable location for fashion design. The breakthrough occurred in 1988 as the group rented a truck and set out for London fashion fair with respective collections. Martin Margiela, another Belgian contemporary, was not actually part of the group that showed in London although he is often mistakenly described as one of the Antwerp Six: he had moved to Paris, where he worked initially for Jean Paul Gaultier.

Mrs. Mia Wallace: A five dollar shake.
Buddy Holly: How do you want that shake: Martin and Lewis or Amos and Andy?
Mrs. Mia Wallace: Martin and Lewis.
Vincent Vega: Did you just order a five dollar shake?
Mrs. Mia Wallace: Ummhh.
Vincent Vega: That's a shake . . . that's milk and ice cream.
Mrs. Mia Wallace: Last I heard.
Vincent Vega: That's five dollars? You don't put bourbon in it or nothin'?
Buddy Holly: No.
Vincent Vega: Just checking.
-----
Vincent Vega: Goddamn, this is a pretty fu**ing good milkshake.
Mrs. Mia Wallace: Told ya.
Vincent Vega: I don't know if it's worth five dollars, but it's pretty fu**ing good.

Over the Moon
Sarah Moon, who was originally born in Britain but now resides in Paris, started her career as a model in the 1960s but moved to photography and film shortly thereafter. Her fashion photographs as well as street scenes have a sense of mystery and nostalgia. Her images are usually slightly blurry and give the figures a ghost like appearance.
Although she resides in Paris she is represented by Creative Exchange Agency here in New York and that is where I was first introduced to her. http://www.creativeexchangeagency.com/#p=Artists/Sarah_Moon
In this nine minute video she talks, in her old parisian accent with very few pauses for breath, about what photography means to her as well as narrating some of her photo shoots. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RSknnxOals
